Description official description

007: The World is Not Enough is based off of the 1999 James Bond film of the same name. In it, Pierce Brosnan's Bond must investigate the murder of a British oil tycoon and attacks on his new pipeline, which leads to a larger sinister plot requiring gunplay and frequent flier miles to diffuse.

This version of the game has a few notable differences to its Nintendo 64 counterpart: it runs off a version of the Medal of Honor engine, and has 11 missions in contrast to the N64's 14; some of which are not shared between the two. The missions that are similar (usually those taken from the film) further tend to play out differently, and utilize completely different gadgets and weaponry.

This version does not feature additional objectives at higher difficulty modes, and only cheats are unlocked by beating specific missions at a specific difficulty. However, it does feature CD-quality music and voices, as well as video clips from the movie for cutscenes. It is single-player only, and features no multiplayer component.

Not half bad... not half good either

The Good
One of the few FPS's on PSX. Okay graphics and some fun levels.

The Bad
Some points were very fake (I.E. the helicopters flying directly over the gas main waiting for you to blow it up...), others were just boring (the casino!).

The Bottom Line
This is just a weak attempt to try and match Goldeneye. And no, it does not succeed at doing so. The fairly bland graphics, boring gameplay and just bad design prevent me from suggesting to you that you buy it.

Excellent standard considering the Playstation's limitations.

The Good
This is a superb shooter for the PS1. It is as good as Golden Eye (despite what many say - they over-rate that game for what? sentimental value?) if not better. I generally hate the PS1 and its games, but this hit puts the stuff I play on Saturn to shame. Great graphics, great story, good music, good sound, great guns, great gadgets, great action.. and tons of fun. I think this tops most shooters on the PS2! I was completely caught of guard with this great effort from EA. I have played all the modern 007's from EA that come out every several months.. and all of those seem to really suck (besides the latest two.. finally they started to find the mark). But this is an exception in the series.. if you still play the PS1, please do yourself a favor and pick this up. For $2.99 you'll get yourself entertainment you couldn't buy for $39.99 if your life depended on it. Maybe worth checking out even if you are busy with your 360 & PSP.. though the graphics barrier could take a day or two to over-come.

The Bad
In game music..

The Bottom Line
In the top 10 Playstation games.

Alongside: Tekken 3, Gran Turismo, Suikoden I & II, Time Crisis, Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer R4, etc..

O.K. Attempt by Electronic Arts to make a game as good as Goldeneye 007.

The Good
Graphics: Cool, gleaming floors, the way opponents react after being shot, punched or stabbed is realistic enough.

Weapons: Really cool stuff, like the motorolla mobile phone and the 45. shotgun (later found), also the small spy tools and guns are cool, the knife is small but lethally sharp.

Sounds: Realistic gunshot sounds and cool spy music, realistic sounding knife stabbing sounds and cool spy music.

Gameplay: O.K. but not bad enough to put in the bad section, the controls are simple to learn.

The Bad
Artificial Intelligence: Good at first but after a while, Aaah, BAD, you come to the back of this guy, and shoot him, and he just doesn't notice you.

There's not enough spying around and spy action.

The Bottom Line
Not reaching even halfway the way to the standards of Goldeneye by Nintendo, but we already know that the most ultimate FPS come from Nintendo. Not as much silky spy like action as Goldeneye, not as much adventure, and not as much shooting but worth the money anyway. 5/5 for cool graphics and weapons. By age 11+ for animated violence and blood, and some suggestive flirting.
