Description official descriptions

The sequel to American Laser Game's original Mad Dog McCree, with pretty much the same gameplay and motion capture graphics. This PC conversion seems to have been tweaked a bit to be more stable than the original Mad Dog. There's also somewhat limited replay value as you can choose from 3 different guides for 3 different routes through the game.

Spellings

  • Mad Dog 2: Золотая лихорадка - Russian spelling
  • Бешеный Пёс 2: Пропавшее золото - Russian spelling (Media-Service 2000)

Great followup to Mad Dog McCree!

The Good
I enjoyed the excellent adventure of going through this game. It is a lot of fun to shoot in the old west! Really addictive! Gameplay is good.

The Bad
Unfornately, there is not enough options or differences to make this classic very replayable. You just sort of pick it up every once in a blue moon....

The Bottom Line
It's a great live-action rail shooter, but suffers greatest from the inevitable repetitiveness...

Trivia

Actors

The character of "Mad Dog" McCree is quite obviously played by an entirely different person than in the original game.

Controversy

On December 31, 1994, Mad Dog II: The Lost Gold was put on the infamous German index by the BPjS. For more information about what this means and to see a list of games sharing the same fate, take a look here: BPjS/BPjM indexed games.
