| Member Since | Sep 05, 2003 | | # Messages Posted: | 185 | | Location: | Finland  | | About myself: | I'm a pretty much a new gamer, I started playing games on the late 1980 on MSX with the games 'Zanac A.I.' and 'Knightmare', and on the PC between 1991-1992 with the games 'Indianapolis 500' and 'Lemmings'.
Thereafter, most of my time I've somewhy concentrated on first person shooters, adventure games and role-playing games. It's not a clear definition of what I like, more like what I prefer. I always tend to play all the games I get a chance to try out either by borrowing or playing at a friend.
I began to lost interest in games back in late 1998, when graphics seem to have surpassed the importance of story and gameplay. Luckily, it seems like developers have realized this, and started concentrating on the more important things again. Which also helped me to go and try out all the new games out there.
Even still, I'm truly hooked to all the old classics I played as a kid, and it has been always more easier for me to go and play an old DOS game than to force myself to play some less interesting, newer game. I don't really know why :P
Considering other gaming related interests, I have worked on few games of my own: some random text-adventures made with QBasic and few unfinished projects started on some ready game engines. I'm also hooked in modding, I still have a lot of projects going on for Duke Nukem 3D. Since I am also a musician, game soundtracks are too, real close to my heart. I really haven't tried composing a soundtrack for a mod, but I have given thought about making one someday.
