I'm submitting reviews here at Moby Games because I think this is a great project to supply gaming information and opinions you may not have access to. I try to post reviews on neglected or lesser known games so that, on the off chance somebody checks them out, these games are represented as well as the more popular titles.
I'll also throw in reviews on popular games if I feel I have something original to add. One thing I won't do is declare anything the "Best Ever," unless it is either Warlords for the Atari 2600 or Yoshi's Island for the SNES, two games I'll pimp with embarassing hyperbole until the end of time.
I hope my reviews help you discover games you wouldn't have otherwise known about or help you learn something about games you didn't notice on your first play through. If you've got the inclination and the 15 minutes it takes to write a review, I hope you'll submit reviews of your own, especially on the less popular, older, or more obscure titles. As somebody who uses Moby Games to look up games, I'd appreciate your input.
Can't think of anything else worth writing, so here's some favorites to fill this thing out...
Favorite Consoles: Atari 2600, SNES, Dreamcast (can't pick just one)
Favorite Atari 2600 Game: Warlords
Favorite SNES Game: Super Mario World 2
Favorite Dreamcast Game: Jet Grind Radio
Favorite Arcade Game: Star Wars
Favorite Genre: Karting
How about some comments on current stuff I've played so I don't seem too far out of touch:
Paper Mario 2 (GC): Disappointing. Boo-coo dialogue made my Green A thumb sore. To me, this game is a reminder of how overrated Super Mario RPG was and is. But hey, just rappin' at ya'.
Burnout 3 (XBOX): Crazy fun. Couldn't believe how much fun it was at first. Now I understand that it was fun, but don't replay much anymore.
Pirates! (PC, 2004): Okay, but lacking in filler. It was a tasty meal, but it left me hungry--I'm not feeling the challenge with the game I felt the first time around back in 1990 (or whenever). Maybe it's about me: I could have been more enthusiastic about Pirates back then, when Pirates was markedly better than everything available. Now it's just a good game. | |
