Tech-Specs > Sound Devices Supported > Thunderboard
The Thunderboard was a Sound Blaster clone put out by MediaVision, makers of the Pro Audio Spectrum. It was meant to compete with the original Sound Blaster in features and price. The Thunderboard was "mostly" compatible with the Sound Blaster... It also had a special 44.1KHz, 8-bit mono mode that the original Sound Blaster didn't have. Some older DOS games contain explicit support for the Thunderboard.
