Virtek Corporation Ltd was formed in 1993 in the United Kingdom. The company's marketing company in the United States, Virtek Corporation, began operations in May 1994 and was located in Pompano Beach, Florida.
The company specialised in 3D graphics technology. Its "3D-Ware" for DOS launched in 1994. Target customers were game companies and virtual reality software developers. The company switched to internet tools development and was using the name Virtek International Corporation when its "Zeus" plug-in for Netscape and Internet Explorer was announced in September 1997. The President of Virtek in 1998 was Phil Allsopp.
There is a connection between Virtek and General Simulations Incorporated (aka GSI Limited), but the specifics are unknown.
