Overview edit · view history

Development studio Propaganda Games was co-founded by Josh Holmes, Howard Donaldson, Daryl Anselmo and Jorge Freitas in Vancouver, Canada and was owned by Disney Interactive Studios (formerly Buena Vista Games, Inc.) as a wholly-owned subsidiary. The establishment was announced on 19th April 2005. The company was largely composed of former Electronic Arts Canada employees. The company's first game, Turok, was released in January 2008.

The studio's second title TRON: Evolution explored the events leading up to the events of the movie Tron: Legacy and was released as a tie-in in December 2010. Before that, in October 2010, Disney cancelled the RPG Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, inspired by the movie franchise. It hit the studio with a round of layoffs where 100 positions were lost. On 19th January 2011 the Los Angeles Times reported that Disney had closed the studio. Propaganda employed about 70 people and at that time the last title (Tron) sold 190,755 copies, according to NPD Group.
