Overview edit · view history
The creation of OT Sports came about as a result of a joint venture between Spectrum Holobyte and Capital Cities/ABC Inc. to develop and produce interactive, multimedia games under the ABC Sports brand. Douglas Whatley and Deb Tillett were approached about developing games for this venture and formed OT Sports LLC in 1996 in Maryland.
According to founder Doug Whatley, the initial ownership of OT Sports was shared between MicroProse and Capital Cities/ABC Inc. When the entire ABC conglomerate was acquired by the Walt Disney Company in 1996, the future of OT Sports was uncertain and it eventually dissolved in 1998. Most of the employees moved to Mr. Whatley's newly formed company BreakAway Games.
