Overview edit · view history

Marapets is a worldwide virtual pet and social network game site, founded in August 15th, 2004 by Ian Smetham in London, England.

The artwork of the site is made by Laimay Yan, the co-founder from Canada. Built on the pet site category (like Neopets), Marapets has grown over the years, and has over 3 million users. The site offers a wide range of gaming activities like flash games, item quests, goal achievements, doll dress-up games, marasites, maramail, and forums.

The site complies with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) which means any user under 13 requires written parental consent to use the forums. The site counts with a big number of moderators and admins who make sure the site is clean from scammers. There is also an adult forum for the older gaming crowd.

Although Marapets has always been English based, current plans include translating the site's content to at least 5 other languages; such as: German, French, and Spanish.
