Overview edit · view history

Vlambeer (Dutch for "bear in flames" or "bear on fire") is the independent studio of the Dutch developers Rami Ismail and Jan Willem Nijman. Nijman is the main designer and Ismail is focused on programming and the business development. The studio's aim is to create downloadable titles for XBLA and PSN. Initially they made flash games to gather funds for their own projects. These commissioned titles were tagged as developed by "Not Vlambeer" and often do not include traces of the Vlambeer names of the developers. Examples of these are Radical Fishing (2010, for Bored.com) and Dinosaur Zookeeper (2011, for Adult Swim). The developers often prototype new ideas and release them to get feedback from players.

The first title released using the studio name was the freeware shooter Super Crate Box (2010). The team also made one of the three promotional indie games for Serious Sam 3: BFE. Their take is called Serious Sam: The Random Encounter and it was released in October 2011.
