Stoic is an independent game development studio based in Austin, Texas (USA) and it was first announced on the company website on 13th February 2012. It was established by Alex Thomas (design, animation, writing), Arnie Jorgensen (art) and John Watson (programming) who formerly worked at BioWare on Star Wars: The Old Republic. Along with the studio, the team announced its first game The Banner Saga as a turn-based strategy game designed as an adventure mini-series about vikings.
