Overview edit · view history
Innelec was founded in August 1983 by Denis Thebaud (who is still the company's CEO as of 2016). The company's first activity was the import and distribution of electronic leisure products on the French market, like electronic games or 8-bit computer games (i.e IJK Software's Oric games, the manual was then translated in French by Innelec).
They distributed Microprose games in France until 1993 (when Microprose was bought by Spectrum Holobyte). In 1998 the company entered in the 2nd Market of the 'Bourse de Paris'. In 1999 Innelec enlarged its product range by distributing video DVDs. In 2006 they added audio CDs to their products...
They also bought several video games store franchises: Ultima Games, Difintel, Virtua, Je Console. In September 2007, Innelec launched a new chain: "Jeux Video & Co", which counts 167 independent stores. 19 of these stores are owned and exploited directly by Innelec.
