Overview edit · view history

Ablex (아블렉스) was a South Korean developer. It was founded in November 1992 by a small group of computer science students at Chung-Ang University, among them Jun Kyoo, who earlier won a SKC game programming competition.

The oldest of the students, Park Sujeong, became the leader of the team, and made it a registered company on April 18th, 1995. Ablex went on to develop Little Witch (1994), Zis the Adventure (1995), and Hades (1995), before the core members left the company in 1996 to found OnNet, which eventually became a developer of online games.

The remaining team, led by Yi Cheolweon, also abandoned offline game development and produced Magic Land (1996), one of the first 3D online RPGs worldwide. The company's final game was Legacy (2000), another online project that was shut down a year later.

Ablex then focused solely on wireless networking technologies. On July 21st, 2005 it became uPresto and completely abandoned game development.
