Overview edit · view history

Edge of Reality, Ltd. is an entertainment software developer focused on next generation consoles. The studio is an authorized developer of games for Sony Playstation 2, Nintendo GameCube and Microsoft X-Box.

Edge of Reality started in early 1998. The company's roots at the time were in technology and our first few projects reflected our technical capabilities. To date, our titles have sold over 5.2 million units. They include Monster Truck Madness N64, Tony Hawk's ProSkater N64, Tony Hawk's ProSkater 2 N64 Tony Hawk's ProSkater 3 N64, Spiderman N64, Sims PS2, Sims Xbox, and Sims GameCube.

The commercial success of these games has enabled us to expand our ability to create games for the next generation. In February 2001, the studio moved from Dallas to Austin. Austin is a not just a beautiful city; it is also rich with experienced console development talent. New to the Austin scene, Edge of Reality quickly became a very attractive shop for high-end talent. We have been a beneficiary of other less successful studios. Each time another local studio has stumbled, we have attracted some of their best people.

Our people average 8 years of experience per employee. Nearly the entire company has at least one million unit seller on their resume. A third of our people have played key roles on two or more million unit sellers.

Despite the pattern of success our people have, Edge of Reality remains a very modest and focused studio. There are no ego battles going on at our studio. Everyone works hard and helps each other. As a result, we have never missed a major milestone.
