Cascade Parent Limited, using the trading name Alludo as of 2022, is a developer and marketer of productivity applications, graphics and Internet software. The company was incorporated in 1985 as Corel Corporation.
Their product line includes CorelDRAW, Corel WordPerfect Suite, Corel Home Office (formerly Corel Office Professional), CorelVIDEO and CorelCAD. Products they have acquired from other companies include WinZip, PaintShop Pro, MindJet MindManager, Ulead VideoStudio, Intervideo WinDVD and others. Their products were developed for most operating systems, including: Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, MS-DOS, OpenVMS and OS/2 and are consistently rated among the strongest in the industry.
Corel was traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (symbol-COS) and the NASDAQ - National Market System (symbol-COSFF) until 2003.
In 1997, Corel Corporation sold its CD Home Collection to Hoffmann + Associates Inc., a Toronto based developer, publisher and distributor. The collection included over 60 multimedia titles, including many games. The sale of the Corel ChemLab was part of the deal. Corel acquired a minority interest in Hoffmann + Associates, as well as an ongoing royalty stream over a specific time period.
The company was acquired by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) in 2019.
