Overview edit · view history
Chainsawsome Games was founded in October of 2012 by David Paré and Jean Simon Otis, after they left Frima Studio in Québec. In the next month, Jade Bélanger, an artist, joined the team. The first game the company worked on was called Echoes of Darkness, a survival horror game. But after about two weeks, they abandoned the project as being too ambitious for a three-person team. They then began work on a 2D platform-rhythm game hybrid called BeatBlasters III, their first release.
In the summer of 2013, they competed in the Pixel Challenge 2013 in Quebec, winning the first prize of the professional category with an 8-player, top down competitive game called First Time Knight. As the idea looked to be popular, they finished it, polished it up and renamed it Knight Squad and released it as their second game.
