The Media Cafe was a sound production company started in 1994 by Yaz Shebab. It started by producing music and soundtracks, but soon specialized in sound for interactive computer programs. Their involvement in the video game business was Esoteria for which they provided the sound engine (based on their Dylan prototype). Otherwise they are mostly known for their work on multimedia CD-ROMs such as The Ring Disc (about the opera Der Ring der Nibelungen).
The company had two offices in New York City and Urbana (Illinois) and was in business until at least May 1999.
