Cellco Partnership (doing business as Verizon Wireless) is an American mobile telephone and internet provider founded in 2000 as a joint venture between American telecom company Bell Atlantic (who soon after renamed themselves to Verizon Communications), and British telecom company Vodafone, resulting in the merging of both companies US mobile divisions. In 2014, Vodafone sold its stake in the company to Verizon Communications in order to focus on the European market.
