Black Legend Ltd. was founded in 1993 as a publishing sideline of the Kompart distribution house. Black Legend put a lot of support into the Amiga scene, publishing a wide range of games, with the most successful being Football Glory, developed by Croteam that started life as an offshoot of the main company. It briefly dabbled in the PC market before closing in 1996.

The company also had a German division, Black Legend Software GmbH.
