Overview edit · view history
Studio Alex, Ltd. (有限会社スタジオアレックス) was a game development studio established circa 1990 by Kazunari Tomi, who had previously worked at Xtalsoft and Falcom as a writer and game designer. The company was best known for being deeply involved with several titles in Game Arts' Lunar series, but the two companies later became involved in a legal battle.
Studio Alex sued Game Arts claiming that they owned secondary copyright on Lunar: The Silver Star, and that the remake Lunar: Silver Star Story had been produced without their permission; Game Arts counter sued for damages for to production troubles related to Mahou Gakuen Lunar. The case was decided in 2003 in favor of Game Arts, and Studio Alex was subsequently bankrupted.
