Founded in 1992 in the United Kingdom by Peter Sleeman, Pinnacle Software Ltd was a division of Pinnacle Entertainment, a large trading company whose principal activity was the distribution on behalf of record labels of recorded music and home entertainment products.

Pinnacle Software's main focus was the promotion, development and distribution of video games for the mass market.

In December 2008 parent company Pinnacle Entertainment filed for bankruptcy leaving hundreds of employees without jobs.
