Shifting Suns Studios was officially formed in 2001 by six game enthusiasts and game developers. Although we became an official company in 2001 we have been a team since October 1999. We formed with Rob Thomas of Mindsiphon as our partner. Rob decided to venture out and concentrate solely on his successful art career, but he remains a positive influence on our endeavors.
The creation of Shifting Suns Studios was a direct result of the soon to be completed Devil Whiskey game. Our first project started as a hobby, but soon it grew to be a part of our lives. The Devil Whiskey game has been featured in many magazines and gaming sites and has a devoted fan base that we communicate with regularly.
Discussions about sales and legal issues and our commitment to develop fun and exciting games for gamers by gamers, prompted us to form an official game development and services company.
That company is Shifting Suns Studios, LLC and we will continue to make games in the mindset of "for gamers, by gamers".
