Rockpool was a development studio of games and content for mobile devices. It was established on 6th January 2003 and was based in Manchester and London. Rockpool's UK studios developed licensed and original content for companies such as THQ Wireless, Sorrent, Player One, Mforma and Siemens Mobile.
The company did both 2D and 3D gaming in both J2ME and Brew and owned the proprietary Coral Build Technology to support a broad device base. In February 2007 the company was acquired by Eidos Interactive Ltd.. In January 2009 Eidos confirmed that the studio had been closed. At the time the company employed about 14 people.
Paul Gouge and Alex Rigby went on to found Playdemic Ltd in 2009.
