Formally established in July 1990, A.I is a small development studio based in Machida, Tokyo, Japan, which employs about 30 people. The company has produced more than 30 titles under contract, including numerous entries in the Bomberman, Bonk, and Super Robot Taisen series. Their most significant clients are Hudson and Banpresto.

The company's name "A.I" comes from the initials of its founders, Hiroyuki Arai and Noriyoshi Innai, who had previously worked together at Sanritsu Denki.
