Overview edit · view history
Warner Interactive International was a short-lived Publishing Division of Time Warner that was formed in 1995 with the acquisition of one of the most successful independent European Publishers of that time, Renegade Software.
Renegade Software was the Publisher for Sensible Software and The Bitmap Brothers and brought with it a staple of successful hits, such as the seminal Sensible Soccer series.
The Managing Director for Renegade/Warner was Dan Thompson. The Development Director was Graeme Boxall.
Warner Interactive was run as a totally independent entity of Time Warner until 1996, when it was merged with the European arm of the parent company, at which point Tony Adams became MD.
Around 1997, Warner decided to get out of the videogames business altogether and sold Warner Interactive to up and coming US Publisher GT Interactive, where it was merged with GT's European division, helmed by industry legend Frank Herman.
Only a few titles were ever actually released under the Warner label, as the majority were published as Renegade Software titles or were completed after the GT acquisition.
