Overview edit · view history
Climax Studios Ltd. is the last remaining development studio of the Climax Group, based in Portsmouth, United Kingdom.
The current name was introduced around 2009-2010. Before that, the division was known as Climax Action, a virtual re-branding of the Climax London, Climax Solent and Climax Handheld Games divisions, all under a single name to make it less confusing for publishers. All the locations and people remained the same and it is led by President Simon Gardner, based at the Portsmouth Climax Solent location. By February 2008, it became the sole development division of the group.
As Climax Action the studio made the Nintendo DS game Nicktoons Unite! in 2006. As Climax Studios the team was responsible for Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (2009), Overlord: Dark Legend (2009), Overlord Minions (2009), Rocket Knight (2010) and Gormiti: The Lords of Nature! (2010).
In 2011, the studio released the PlayStation Move game Eyepet & Friends. In 2012, the team released the XBLA game Bloodforge and Smart As, a PS Vita braintraining game under the banner of Sony (XDEV Studio Europe).
