Soft Dorothy Software

Name

John Calhoun, seemingly adrift in Kansas, far from the Californian shores where exciting computing ground was being broken, was inspired by Duane Blehm's Hometown Software, from even further away in rural Kansas. For HS' logo, Duane had selected a scarecrow such as might be found in any farm in the grain belt. But John read it as a reference to the Oz books of L. Frank Baum (and their fantastic escapism from mundanity in Kansas) and took it one step further to Dorothy Software. One last switcheroo to the catchier Dorothy Soft and he had a name for his imprint!
