InterWave Studios B.V.

InterWave Studios is a game development studio based in Sittard, the Netherlands. It was founded by Michiel Beenen, Alan de Klein, Ben Palmer, Igor Raffaele, James Gray, Jeroen van Werkhoven, and Olly Ginger. It was established in 2008 as a division of TechConnect B.V., a Dutch IT company founded in 1997.

Interwave's first projects were anti-cheat solutions, advanced statistics, and management plugins for online servers. The company's first game projects were Half-Life 2 total conversions using the Source engine: Insurgency and Stargate: The Last Stand. The team started working on a new project called Distant Hope, but in October 2008 they changed their mind and approached the development team behind the total conversion Nuclear Dawn. The project first emerged in February 2006 but development had come to a standstill in 2008.

InterWave Studios made different offers and eventually signed a deal to take over the project in April 2009. After more than two years of work, the hybrid between real-time strategy and a first-person shooter was released in September 2011 as Nuclear Dawn.
