Media Works was a Japanese publishing company and a part of the Kadokawa Group (a holding company that brings together different companies affiliated with Kadokawa Shoten). It was founded on October 15th, 1992, in Chiyoda, Tokyo. They are mostly known for their Dengeki magazines, but have also developed and published video games. Most of their games are visual novels (many of which are based on their manga series), but they also worked on more ambitious projects such as Seiya Monogatari (1995).
On 1st April 2008 the company merged with ASCII Corporation to form the new company ASCII Media Works, Inc. and Media Works was legally absorbed by ASCII. On 1st October 2013 the company became an internal division of Kadokawa Corporation.
