Namco Tales Studio was a Japanese development studio responsible for developing the Tales of... series of games for Namco (later Namco Bandai). The subsidiary was what remained from the original development house Wolf Team. When this subsidiary was formed in March 2003, 60% was owned by Namco, 34% was owned by Telenet Japan, and 6% was owned by Namco Tales Studio director Eiji Kikuchi.
Since the merger of Namco and Bandai into Namco Bandai Holdings, the company bought out Telenet Japan's stake in this subsidiary, and owned 94% of the subsidiary.
In November 2011 Namco Bandai announced to absorb the Namco Tales Studio into the main company on 1st January 2012.
