Romik Software Ltd
Overview
Romik Software was founded in 1982 by Mike Barton and Steve Clark who had both previously worked for Rabbit software. Initially it developed games for the VIC 20, the Dragon and all other computers as they were released. Their early titles were written by freelancers on commission. A full-time team of programmers were hired in 1985.The name Romik was created from the the first names of Mike and his brother Robert. Some people for some reason thought that the name Romik was from Rose and Mike, Mr. Rose was employed by Romik as an accountant and was dismissed soon after he started and replaced by a firm of accountants.
When he was dismissed Gerry Rose left to form a new software house, Phoenix Software.
