James Ackley joined Monolith in January of 1997 and is presently the Director of Audio and Lead Sound Designer for Monolith. He began his career in sound design, having gained experience in the recording industry as well as the computer gaming industry.

His educational background includes, the Los Angeles Recording Workshop and a degree from the Art Institute of Seattle, specializing in audio recording. In addition to his education, James spent 2 years owning and operating a music-recording studio, as well as working as a Sound Designer for Sierra On-line for nearly 2 years.
