Kevin has been a video game designer and producer since the late 1990s. He began his career in the industry as the game director of the MMORPG Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds. He was the lead designer and producer of Shattered Galaxy, which swept the 2001 Independent Games Festival and was recognized by GameSpot as the Most Innovative Game of the year and Best Multiplayer Strategy Game of the year.
He later worked at Westwood Studios as a designer on Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour and Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth. He left Electronic Arts in 2004 and joined Obsidian Entertainment as a senior designer on Knights of the Old Republic 2. While at Obsidian, Kevin worked on all of the company's titles, and was the lead designer and producer for Mask of the Betrayer. He was the senior producer for Storm of Zehir, Aliens: Crucible, and Dungeon Siege III.
Early in the Dungeon Siege project, Kevin transitioned to serious games by joining Alelo as Creative Director, where he worked on serious games focused on language and culture training. Among other efforts, he led Mission to Senegal (ISLET), a multiplayer language learning RPG designed for research on how gameplay and social interaction can influence learning. The game won a Bronze Award at the Serious Play Conference 2012.
Kevin joined inXile entertainment in late 2012 as the project lead for Torment: Tides of Numenera, the thematic successor to the classic RPG Planescape: Torment. He led the game's crowdfunding campaign, which broke Kickstarter records by raising $1M in 7 hours, ultimately raising over $4M, making it the most funded video game project on Kickstarter. Torment is scheduled for release in 2015.
Kevin earned his Master of Engineering degree from Cornell University and has authored a college text on game interface design (Game Development Essentials: Game Interface Design).
