Jacob Black

Jacob Black is an independent game developer focused on Serious Games. He has worked in games for education, health, rehabilitation, preventative care, training as well as many games whose only goal was fun.

As the Chief Production Office for Blue Marble Game Co Jacob guided the development of games focused on supporting cognitive rehabilitation (for mild traumatic brain injury) and physical rehabilitation (for age related balance issues). He coordinated our in-house clinical staff and our production team, with senior management. Blue Marble's games facilitate assessment using memory, attention, visual perception, executive function and adherence using data captured and displayed through a proprietary system which he helped develop. This includes server architecture, user facing interfaces and cloud based access.

From September 2004 through November 2011, Jacob worked for Gameloft publishing mobile games. He has experience coordinating deployment for all US and Canadian mobile providers, overseeing new creation projects as well as managing the monthly global competitive analysis on monetization and providing final content approval for all US mobile releases. Jacob has managed local production for teams ranging from 3 to 200 employees.

Jacob has a Bachelors degree in Industrial Design and a Bachelors degree Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Psychology and Anthropology, graduating with honors from Arizona State University in 2001.
