Susan was recently selected to become a member of the famed Groundlings Sunday Company. She is a Los Angeles-based comedian who has appeared as a stand-up comic and improv and sketch performer at such venues as The LA Improvisation, The Comedy Underground, The Comedy Union, Improv Olympic, National Comedy Theatre and The Second City Los Angeles.
A graduate of Northwestern Universityâs School of Speech, Susanâs theatre resume includes performances at The Second City, the Goodman Theatre, and Wisdom Bridge Theatre in Chicago, East West Players in Los Angeles and the Hamburg Operettenhaus in Germany. A former member of distinguished LA theatre companies, the Los Angeles Repertory Company and Circus Theatricals, Susan has had the privilege to study acting with David Mamet, William H. Macy, Robert Bella, Barbara Gaines, Ann Woodworth, Frank Galati, Jack Stehlin and Alfred Molina. An accomplished vocalist, Susan has performed with the Pasadena Pops Orchestra, the Occidental Master Chorale, the Los Angeles Bach Festival and the independent vocal studio group, Los Angeles Vocal Artists.
As a writer, Susan has penned comedy for The Second City: âSuffer Little Childrenâ, the Groundlings: âMe Lab You Long Timeâ, âUnwelcome Advanceâ and âThere is No I in âAdvancedââ, the sketch group Titoâs Harmony: âClouds of Meatâ, âFiggy Puddingâ and âOn the Nuggetâ, and an adaptation of the Bizet opera âCarmenâ for the Pasadena Pops Orchestra starring Rene Auberjonois. She is also the staff writer for the comedy website, atworkandbored.com. Recently, Susanâs sitcom spec script, Arrested Development: âCasino Evilâ was named a Quarter-finalist in the 2005 ScriptapaloozaTV competition.
Susan graduated from the Second City Writing Conservatory, is currently completing a Certificate in Television Writing from UCLA Extension and is a Peer Group member of the Writerâs Boot Camp where she is polishing her first feature script, the psychological thriller, âUnsettledâ. Her songwriting credits include, âWhatâs a Tamgotchi?â for Bandai, âItâs Coming For Youâ for the independent horror film, âAloneâ, for Circle Take Productions and the comedy songs, âSole Sisterâ and âArt Songâ for the Groundlings.
An accomplished producer, Susan has steered numerous successful projects, including the TamagotchiTM and BarneyTM CD-Roms for Bandai and Microsoft, respectively, Pythonline.com, the official website of Monty Python for 7th Level, Inc., a TamagotchiTM video feature for kids, âNow Museum, Now You Donâtâ, and a live televised variety show in Germany, âBroadway and Beyondâ. She served as the first webmaster for legendary cartoon studio, Hanna-Barbera, and later owned and operated boutique animation agency, Zoom Cartoons Entertainment, with her partner, animation director, Dan Kuenster.
Susan is currently at work launching an original comedy content website at fufu.com. She is also an in-demand voice actor whose recent credits include the new âStreetwiseâ video game for Capcom and an anime pilot for Cartoon Network, âZoid Genesisâ. Her first short film, the satirical âPurple Binsâ, was chosen as an Official Selection in the Moviefone Short Film Festival, Method Fest and the Faux Film Festival and is featured on Kevin Smithâs Movies Askew website and the pop culture blogsite, Screenhead. She plans on shooting her second short film, âStockholm Syndromeâ this year, the script for which was a Quarterfinalist in the American Gem Screenplay Competition.
