Tōru Sakurai was the creator and writer of the Arcana Heart series. He wrote the scenario for the first Arcana Heart 2D arcade fighting game in 2006, and continued to write the scenarios for future games in the series. He also launched the Battle Mexia manga with artist Motoki Yoshihara in July 2016 on Kadokawa's Comic Clear website. He passed away in May 2017.
