Prior to co-founding Mythic Entertainment in 1995, Mark was President of Adventures Unlimited Software Inc., one of the earliest developers and publishers of massively multiplayer games. A native of New York City, Mark earned a Juris Doctorate in 1984 from Georgetown University Law Center, after graduating summa cum laude from Syracuse University. Mark has over 20 years' experience in the computer gaming industry and his credits include popular online games such as Dragon's Gate, Rolemaster: Magestorm, Splatterball, Aliens Online, Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

After Mythic was acquired by Electronic Arts, by June 2009 EA eventually merged Mythic and BioWare into a new RPG/MMO group. Along with the announcement, Jacobs left EA on 23rd June 2009.

Mark's primary responsibilities at Mythic were formulating long-range strategy; participating in product development; acting as lead designer for Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and managing the growth of the company.
