Developer Biography

Bob Fitch entered the gaming industry by joining Silicon & Synapse in 1992 before he was out of college. He graduated with a BS in Computer Science from Cal State Fullerton. His first project was Rock n' Roll Racing which released in 1993. His second major project was to write a new game engine that was ultimately used to build WarCraft: Orcs & Humans. After that he contributed to almost every title Blizzard Entertainment released, in some way or another. Most recently he was the Technical Director for Hearthstone, sat on Blizzard's Engineering Council, and is currently working on unannounced projects.

Bob's specialties include "large data" and algorithms, AI programming, compilers, and most notably game balance. He designed and engineered the AI for all their RTS games up through Starcraft II, and the original World of Warcraft combat game mechanics and spell balance.
