C. Anne Williams, Author of The Legend of Lotus Spring Novella

Women Wise became so fascinated by the legend, myths, truths and the main, female character in The Legend of Lotus Spring, that we commissioned C. Anne Williams to research and author a historical-romance novella based on the lead character!

C. Anne Williams set off on the task of researching both the culture of the era and the history of the once existing 800-acre Garden of Perfect Brightness. Her research included reading Dragon Lady: The Life and Legend of the Last Empress of China, by Sterling Seagrave, and The Devil Soldier: The American Soldier of Fortune Who Became a God in China, by Caleb Carr, as well as studying library books on the history of the British and Chinese opium wars.

Anne admits that The Legend of Lotus Spring is the first computer game she has played: "It was a great way for me to learn more about computer technology without being intimidated. And, of course, I spent hours on the Internet doing research, not only on the book, but also on the software entertainment business."

Anne, married and the mother of two, studied art in college before taking time off to raise her family. She continues her life-long learning with writing courses, determined to make a living at her craft. So, her computer is smokin' as she feverishly creates and types away. Anne can now proudly say that three of her novellas will be published this year, each developed for reading on the new, high-tech ebooks. For someone who has been "wired" only a short time, this success is remarkable. Our congratulations to Anne. Now that's the accomplishment of a real Woman Wise!
