Dan McGarry began in the industry in 1996 and joined Firaxis in 2003 as a programmer.
With a degree in computer science and a minor in mathematics from Penn State University, he also took coursework in creative writing, comparative literature, photography, astronomy, and history.
Dan is recognized in the industry for technology innovation including the Aries/Voltron MMO framework powering multiple MMO titles. Dan previously worked at Maxis on The Sims license.
