Jason Hickey

Jason has worked in the games industry since 2004 coming from an environment artist background all the way through to Art Direction on AAA titles. He has worked in music video, feature film, computer games and classical animation. Notable game credits include:

• Lead Environment Artist and Assistant Art Director on VR Worlds for PlayStation VR at SCE London Studios

• Lead Artist on Ryse at Crytek

• Senior Environment Artist on KDA at Frontier.

Jason has talked at several industry events and his speaker credits include:

FMX (Stuttgart - April, 2016) on Shifting Landscapes: Creating worlds for PlayStation VR GDC (San Francisco - March, 2015) on Virtual Visuals: Key Lessons for Artists Working with VR Develop Conference (Brighton - July, 2014) on Environment Art and its application to Virtual Reality BFX (Bournemouth - September, 2014) on Environment Art and its application to Virtual Reality

His art work for Ryse has been shown in London's National Gallery as part of the 2014 Renaissance Exhibition on Italian Architecture. Ryse won Best Real-Time Graphics at Siggraph 2014.

Other non-games credits include Art Direction for "Heidi" at Big Bad Wolf, Art Direction for "Lulu Mae" by Nina Hynes and Trainee Art Direction on "Veronica Geurin" by Joel Schumacher

He has a HND computer and Classical Animation (Distinction) - Irish School of Animation, Ballyfermot and currently resides in London.
