The original founder of Maryland Hematology/Oncology Associates, P.A., Myo Thant received his hematology and medical oncology training at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, MD. While there, he published numerous articles related to cancer research. After completion of his training, Dr. Thant decided to come to Baltimore to open his practice. In addition to opening one of the first medical oncology practices in northern Baltimore County, he also served as Chief of Medical Oncology at Franklin Square Hospital until 1983. Also holding a Masters of Engineering Science, he has been involved for over 20 years in the production of computer-based educational programs in medicine. He is board certified in medical oncology.
