William Townsend started in the games industry in 2001 when he became a tester at EA's Westwood Studios. In four years he transitioned into the role of assistant producer. He later moved on to Activision and after working on several titles he became a full-fledged producer, helping lead the development of the first DJ Hero game. In January 2011 he joined Nexon America to work on MapleStory.
On 12th December 2011 he died in a car accident in Los Angeles, at the age of 33.
