Yoshitaka Murayama (村山 吉隆) is a Japanese game designer best known as the creator of the Suikoden series. He was born in Hokkaido and studied computer programming at the University of Tokyo, graduating in 1992. In the same year he was hired by Konami. He worked in quality assurance before being entrusted with leading the development of a new RPG series in collaboration with Junko Kawano and other employees. Murayama created the setting and the general concept of what later became Suikoden (1995).
In June 2002, a month before the release of Suikoden III, Murayama unexpectedly left Konami and founded Blue Moon Studio, where he worked on 10,000 Bullets.
