Biography edit · view history

After a successful career in electronic engineering and business software, Edgar set up Britsoft star Bullfrog Productions in 1987, with game designer Peter Molyneux. From the very beginning, Bullfrog captured the imagination of the public worldwide, releasing genre busting million sellers such as Populous and Theme Park.

Under Edgar's guidance Bullfrog built on its early successes with careful expansion and smart exploitation of the company's unique IP, eventually forging a long-term publishing alliance with market leader Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: ERTS).

After several more years of outstanding critical success and Number One's across the globe (including Japan), in a ground breaking deal, Bullfrog merged with EA with Edgar moving into the senior corporate role of Vice President of European Studios and Chairman of Bullfrog Productions.

After 4 years in this strategic role which has included the construction of a new world class studio of over 200 people, Edgar announced the scaling down of his involvement with EA. He continues to announce a number of characteristically innovative ventures both inside and outside the games industry including, his investments in development studios Lost Toys and Stainless Games, non-executive directorship of Creature Labs, consultancy role at Vis Interactive and plans to race in the Le Mans series with Aston Martin.
