Thomas M. Disch was a science fiction writer and poet from America. He was first published in the 1960s and embraced the New Wave movement which was attempting to create more mature and sophisticated science fiction in contrast to earlier pulp material.
In 1986 Disch collaborated with software company Cognetics Corporation in the creation of the text adventure game Amnesia.
