Is this "Deus" anyhow related to the "Deus Ex" saga?

No, Deus from Silmarils is the successor of their game: Robinson's Requiem.
Deus is the latinum word for God/Divine. Some people call Deus Ex a g godlike game, so that's the only "connection" between this game and Ion Storm's Deus Ex.
