Jasper's Journeys was originally released as a DOS shareware game in 1997. The releases of the shareware episode are still available:

There's also a little preview on the PSL (Public Software Library) CD where v1.0 was published. What I haven't figured out for sure is whether PabaGames was the publisher, or the developer entity, since the included documentation says "Jasper's Journeys by PabaGames (c) copyright 1997 John White" ("by" could mean either developer or publisher).
