I've recently come across these video resolutions when submitting/updating tech specs, which have not been available as selections:
- 400x300 (Jazz Jackrabbit 2, Quake III Arena)
- 960x720 (Soldier of Fortune, Quake III Arena)
- 856x480 (Quake III Arena)
It would also be good, I believe, to have a "custom" tickbox. Many newer 2D games, for instance, have some unique base resolution that's completely arbitrary, and there are also those games that allow for setting a custom user resolution.

Regarding a "custom" resolution option: if possible I think it would be preferable to have a text box for custom resolution(s), such as we have for the comments, since it might still be relevant information what custom resolution(s) the game uses or supports.

I figured that might be the case, but I thought I'd voice the suggestion anyways. It would be useful, I believe.

Recent GPU's and Windows versions pretty much refuse to output anything below 640x480 it seems, so I can't really try it out properly as I don't have an old system plugged in right now. But I would guess it was double-scanned like 320x200 and similar resolutions were.
It probably was mostly available in "heavy" games (like Quake III), to allow it to run at all on lower-end systemsm, and probably not in use for very long.
Edit (clarification): Especially when software rendering was still used, # of pixels pushed made a huge difference for framerate, so I imagine those resolutions went away once integrated GPU's became commonplace.
And 400x300x2 is 800x600, so it sounds likely it was double-scanned.

DirectX 5 allowed for a lot of funky resolutions. Some of them can be seen in this screenshot:

A few more DOS resolutions (all used by Quake 1): 320x350, 360x200, 360x240, 360x350, 360x400, 360x480, 848x480, 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x1024

Yes, I was surprised that it didn't go above 800x600. I guess not a lot of people have added resolutions for DOS games yet.

You should be able to select them all now.

Two more: 1152x648 and 1776x1000 (both used by Omikron: The Nomad Soul).
(I also still think adding "Other" (for games with exclusively non-standard resolutions) and "Customizable" (for user-set resolutions) tickboxes would be a good idea.)

All Sega Genesis resolutions except for 320×240 and 320×480 appears to have a cut-off date before the present day. This should not be the case, as games are still being developed for this platform (most use a resolution of 320x224 or 256x224).
