I remember this game vaguely since it was from my childhood. I assume it was a game from the 90's. The main characters was green and jumped around the would stage collection items?

I remember the game over screen being the main character in a cooking pot with a angry chef.

I was thinking the same thing. Don't remember any angry chef, though, but then again, never did finish the game :)

Wait, green character, jumping like a platformer... could it be one of Oddworld games? Like Abe's Oddysee (1997) or Abe's Exodus (1998)?

The early ones are from late 1990s. Also, while I haven't played those games, I think the main character is like a food in that world so it would make sense to see him in a cooking pot with an angry chef for game over screen.

Does this character below look familiar to you?

...This is a long shot, but Prehistorik 2 has a game over screen with the character put into a cooking pot.

The game over screen was a still image of the Chef (with chef clothing, chef hat, "Italian" looking, mustache) and the main green character in a large pot.
